Hi there! I’m Brooke Welsh-Jebbia with Century 21 Lucky Money Real Estate, and I’m so excited to welcome you to my very first blog post! Whether you’re already living in the Houston area or thinking about making a move, I created this space to share not just real estate tips, but also what makes our communities such great places to live, work, and play.
If you’re a young adult renting your first place or thinking about buying a home in the near future, getting to know your neighborhood is key — and summer is the perfect time to explore. So, I’ve put together a list of 10 fun things to do in The Woodlands and Cypress this summer. These spots offer a mix of adventure, relaxation, local charm, and community vibes.
1. Catch a Live Show at Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion
Nothing says summer like an outdoor concert! This iconic venue in The Woodlands hosts big-name performers, including Buzzfest and the annual Star-Spangled Salute with the Houston Symphony — and many shows are free.
2. Paddle the Waterways
Rent a kayak or paddleboard at Riva Row or Lakes Edge Boat House for a peaceful, scenic way to see the area. Bonus: It’s a fun date or solo self-care activity.
3. Climb into Adventure at Texas TreeVentures
If you’re up for a challenge (and a little height!), this aerial adventure course is a unique way to enjoy the outdoors and push your limits.
4. Shop at Houston Premium Outlets
Located in Cypress, this one’s a personal favorite of mine. With over 140 stores, from Nike to Burberry, it’s a perfect day trip — and a great way to treat yourself after a long workweek.
5. Visit TGR Exotics Wildlife Park
Love animals? TGR Exotics in Cypress lets you get up close with exotic wildlife in a fun, educational setting.
6. Sip and Savor at Wine & Food Week
Happening at the end of May in The Woodlands, this event is perfect for foodies and wine lovers. It’s a great way to meet people and enjoy the finer side of the area.
7. Stroll Through Matzke Park
This underrated spot in Cypress features local art, peaceful walking paths, and a calm atmosphere — ideal for clearing your mind or taking Insta-worthy photos.
8. Celebrate Memorial Day in The Woodlands
The Township hosts an amazing Memorial Day celebration, complete with live music, kids’ activities, and fireworks. A classic way to kick off the summer.
9. Unwind with Summer Solstice Yoga
Try a unique yoga event where you wear noise-reducing headsets for an immersive experience. It’s calm, cool, and completely different.
10. Enjoy Waterway Nights
Bring a blanket and enjoy live music at Waterway Square. These free concerts make for a chill night out with friends, especially when the weather cools off in the evening.
Wrapping It Up
Whether you’re new to town or just looking to fall in love with it all over again, The Woodlands and Cypress have so much to offer — from adventure and culture to community and calm. I hope this list gives you a few ideas to make the most of your summer.
And if you’re thinking about renting your first place or making your first home purchase, I’d love to be your go-to local expert. Feel free to reach out or drop a comment — I’m always happy to help!
